Alabama may have held back something special for later on the first day of the early signing period on Wednesday.
Hours later the Crimson Tide signed 22 players to their class of 2022, including a triplet of five-star prospects, previous LSU All-American cornerback Eli Ricks reported he will move to Alabama.
A sophomore, Ricks had a season-finishing shoulder injury in October.
Under seven days later Ricks was precluded, LSU and coach Ed Orgeron declared that Orgeron would move to one side toward the finish of the season.
LSU hired former Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly as Orgeron’s substitution.
Ricks arose as one of the best young corners in college football last season, procuring Freshman All-SEC and third-team All-America honors.
In 14 career games, he has five interferences.
